Preparing for Winter

Students are thinking about how we prepare for winter. We read: A Farm Prepares for Winter, Sleep Tight Farm by Eugenie Doyle. This book was a donation from The Orange County Farm Bureau.

Students will be working with our school gardens throughout the harvest season to prepare for winter. Every Thursday in October, we will be looking for ways to help out, both at home and in school.

News Alert: One warm September afternoon, we had a visitor to the library!  We learned that we should always leave fuzzy caterpillars alone, especially the American Dagger Caterpillar

Library Fall News 2021

We have been reading books about heroes in our world and how their contributions have made the made the world a better place.

Together, we read biographies on: Dr. Fauci, Temple Grandin, Raye Montegue and Jacques Cousteau.

Students read: The Girl Who Thought in Pictures by Julia Finley Mosca and The Girl With a Mind For Math also by Julia Finley Mosca. Students took time to compare and contrast these enjoyable, informative  biographies.

We used the Seesaw app to do a follow-up activity where we drew a picture of someone who inspires and described their accomplishments.
