Dorothy’s List, Vermont Public Radio’s book club for Middle grade readers, is back! 
This month we’re reading The Port Chicago 50. The book tells the true World War II story of a segregated Navy base at Port Chicago, California, where a deadly explosion led to charges of mutiny and a fight for fairness and civil rights.
Students will meet in Thetford Elementary School’s library on Monday, November 2 at noon. We will listen to Vermont Edition as Dorothy’s List visits young readers at Sheldon Elementary School who have questions for author Steve Sheinkin.
Dorothy’s List airs the first Monday of each month during Vermont Edition at noon and 7 p.m.
