Library News

In these very difficult times, it’s always helpful to reflect on the positive…..The pandemic has been very difficult in so many ways, only one of which is how it has adversely affected our social lives and our ability to stay connected. For some of us, we were able to find ways to enjoy ourselves and connect with others through books. Many students have told me they have been reading much more this year! 5th and 6th graders have been meeting and discussing this year’s Golden Dome Book Award. Some students have already met their reading goals from January and continue to keep track of their progress on Biblionasium.com

Keep up the great work everyone!

Raindrops Roll

Students in 4th and 5th grades enjoyed reading the book:
Raindrops Roll by April Pulley Sayre. April Pulley Sayre is a photo-illustrator and award-winning author of over 65 books including Bloom Boom, Warbler Wave, Full of Fall, and Thank You, Earth. To learn more about April Sayre and her award-winning books check out: http://www.aprilsayre.com/
Students read and learned about water science and then observed the details in April Sayre’s rain photos. Inspired by Sayre’s photos, students took raindrop photos of their own.  Below is a link to a photo essay from Mrs.Lacasse and Ms. Maggie’s library classes inspired by Raindrops Roll:
