Virtual Author Visit, Tue. Oct. 27th 1:45 pm and CLiF Book Giveaway!

We are so excited to finally distribute free books from last year’s Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) grant.

Students have been so delighted to receive free books to read and keep!

Next week, Tue. Oct. 27th 1:45 pm, Ted Sheu the Poetry Guy will be making a virtual visit to TES!

http://www.poetryguy.com/

Ted will share with us why he think poems are such a special and flexible form of writing and a little bit about his writing journey. He will also share a few of his short poems, including inviting kids to send him one of their own poems.

TES Library receives a donation of hand-made face masks

TES parent and F.H. Clothing Co owner, Sara Ecker graciously made 20 masks for some of our library patrons!

There are 10 adult sized masks and 10 children’s masks. Bridget Veracka, school secretary, loves wearing her new mask in our school office!

It’s wonderful having such supportive parents donate their time and expertise in to keeping our students and staff safe and healthy.

Thank you, Sara!

Welcome Back to TES!

We’re off to a great start!

Library classes are taking place in both the outdoor classrooms and outdoor Reading Room. Parent volunteers were a huge help organizing spaces around the school and in the forest! Thank you, TES Parents and Volunteers!

In our Heroes Unit, 1st- 6th grade students  have been reading about people who have made the world a better place.

One 6th grade Library class in their forest classroom were listening to me read aloud

Debbie Levy’s book, I Dissent: Ruth Bader Ginsberg Makes Her Mark.

As I was reading, one student exclaimed,

“Mary, look, the birds are landing behind you; they’re listening to the story, too!”
