Students in 1st and 2nd grade enjoyed reading: The Curious Garden by Peter Brown. Students have been identifying the beginning, middle, and end of story plots. As a follow-up activity to Peter Brown’s story, students used their iPads and the ScratchJr. app  to draw the story’s setting. Students drew the setting as it gradually changed to a greenscape and programmed the main character, Liam, as he grew from a small boy to an adult.

This year all of Ms. Bette’s Kindergarten students met their goal of reducing their screen time by 20 minutes a day for the entire week! During their library class with Ms. Mary, students celebrated their win with popsicles and turtle races in their outdoor classroom.
