To celebrate National Library Week and National Poetry Month, Thetford Elementary School Library will be running a Haiku Contest!
The contest is open to children ages 12 and under. Haiku is a form of poetry that originated in Japan. It is used to describe nature and the seasons. Entries should follow the 5-7-5 syllable format.
Entry forms available in the TES library. Children may submit up to 3 haiku poems.
The first place winner will win a $35 gift certificate to Norwich BookStore, second place will win a $25 gift certificate to Norwich BookStore, and third place will win a $20 gift certificate to Norwich Bookstore!
Please submit your haiku entries by paper or email to Mary.Wunderlich@oesu.org by 5:00 pm on Monday, April 27th.
Winners will be announced on Thursday, April 30th.
